...absentee ballot requests and deadlines. (VoteAnywhere.Org) We have a Speakers' Bureau with members ready to "decode" the Ballot Amendments for your membership, offering the pros and cons of each question, indicating which organizations support or do not, including the League's positions where appropriate. We have publications available and studies to take part in: two National studies: the role of the federal government in public education, and a study of the use of privitization by the federal government. We have a state study on transportation and a local study of the PBC County Charter beginning with how the Commissioners are elected. Our Social Issue & Action monthly meetings begin in September focusing on the Affordable Health Care Act and how it will affect us. We will have an electronic Voters Guide available before the Primary on August 24 and one before the general election on November 2. These will be available on our state website LWVFL.org as well as on our own. We welcome collaborative ventures and we continue to seek out those who are under-represented and under-served. There is a lot going on in the LWVPBC this year! The public is welcome to attend any and all meetings. We hope you will join us in our quest to encourage informed and active participation by those who live in PBC in all three levels of our government.
