Issue Overview

They often need education or training to prepare for their new lives. Others have health concerns, due to wartime traumas. They may need housing assistance or other financial aid. Still others need legal assistance, with respect to issues such as access to benefits, disability determinations, discharge matters, access to health care, and family issues.

What can I do?

There are many activities in which community volunteers can engage to improve the lives of veterans in Palm Beach County. To help advocate for veterans, get connected with the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. To ensure that our veterans have roofs over their heads, connect with an organization such as Stand Down House. To help with medical care, visit the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.
