Parents remain children's first and most important teachers; nonetheless, parental involvement is an essential ingredient to ensure success at school. Research shows that parental involvement both at home and at school is truly necessary for students to achieve academic success.
Timothy Ladd is Associate Dean of Education at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL. For over ten years he has taught field-based undergraduate education courses, including assessment, children's literature, content reading and social studies methods in a teacher preparation program. He assists with recruitment and advising of undergraduate students in teacher preparation, and also works with freshmen in their first year experience course. He has served as Faculty Athletic Representative for the PBA Sailfish since 2003. Prior to his tenure at PBA, Dr. Ladd worked in the public schools of Dallas, Texas as elementary teacher and administrator. He earned his BA and MIM degrees from Baylor University and his Ed.D. from Texas A&M.
