The Palm Beach County Department of Community Services and the Palm Beach County Health Department establishes a Special Needs shelter during times of evacuation. This shelter is specifically for residents of Palm Beach County living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia disorders. It's a safe haven for patients and their caregivers, one that is staffed by experts who know how to help in these cases.
If you are ready to be a hero, are over 18 years of age and live in Palm Beach County, please contact the volunteer department at Alzheimer's Community Care to set up your Florida-state approved dementia-specific training.
