Domestic violence calls increasing

July 19, 2010-A report released by the 24-hour crisis line, 211, has revealed that calls related to domestic violence have increased 83% during the years of the economic downturn.

"Research indicates that domestic violence increases when families are under financial strain," said Susan K. Buza, Executive Director of 211 Palm Beach / Treasure Coast. "We wanted to see what the data we've gathered from our callers the past few years would show."
